ABOUT ME

When you are busy moving forward, you rarely stop to look back.

But I have learnt from walking that sometimes the views behind you can be as interesting as the ones ahead. This portfolio is a look back at the work I have done as an art director and designer, the digital and print projects I have been involved in, and the great people I have had the opportunity to work with.

I'm an accomplished designer with over 25 years’ experience of art directing both customer and consumer titles. I cut my teeth on customer magazines before taking on the role of art director at New Scientist, the weekly magazine for science and technology. Subsequently, I became chief designer at TES and Times Higher Education magazines, and then art director of Walk magazine. In recent freelance roles, I have designed publications including the Natural History Museum’s Evolve and the Royal Geographical Society’s Geographical, and planned and executed branding and marketing campaigns for New Scientist.

I enjoy all aspects of print and digital design work. I am customer-focused and have a practical, hands-on approach.
